What is Meter Reading and Billing for IESCO Customer ?
Meter Reading is very important for every IESCO consumer to pay its Bill.IESCO is carried out on a routine base for every customer every month.Its a record of every customer of IESCO unit consuming in a month.
The Reading is generally taken recorded by the concerned staff of IESCO.For the purpose ,the consumer of each sub-division are divided into a number of batches and sub-batches.
The Reading program is prepared in such a way that the Meter of a batch are normally read on the same dates each month.

When meter readers take readings or snapshots, they should also look out for any faults or unusual issues in the metering system. If they notice something wrong, they need to note it down in the reading or discrepancy book, or report it using the usual method. The responsible officer will then make sure the issue is fixed as soon as possible.
Percentage Verification of Meter Reading
To make sure that meter readings are recorded accurately, a percentage-based checking system will be followed.
The Line Superintendent Incharge will recheck a portion of the readings already taken by the staff about 5% of general supply and general service connections, and 15% of industrial connections (up to 20 kW load) as well as agricultural tube wells.
The Meter Reading Section Supervisor will also verify at least 15% of readings from industrial and agricultural consumers (up to 20 kW load) and will cross-check around 20 general supply or service connections every week. Any issue or mismatch found in these readings will be reported to the SDO or Assistant Manager (Operations).
The SDO/AM (Operations) will personally visit and verify readings from at least 2% of industrial, commercial, and agricultural connections (up to 40 kW) each month, along with five other random meters each day. If any meter reader is found recording incorrect readings, disciplinary action will be taken against them.
The Executive Engineer or Deputy Manager (Operations) will physically check about 10% of readings from industrial, agricultural, and commercial consumers with a sanctioned load between 40 kW and 500 kW. They will also check two other meters daily, including one that was not checked by the SDO/AM (Operations).
The Superintending Engineer or Manager (Operations) will inspect around 15% of the readings for consumers having a load above 500 kW. They will also check five other meters — one already checked by the SDO/AM (Operations), one by the Executive Engineer/Deputy Manager (Operations), and three additional ones.
All concerned officers Line Superintendent, Meter Reading Supervisor, SDO/AM, Executive Engineer, and Superintending Engineer — must maintain a proper record of these percentage checks.
However, the main responsibility for ensuring correct meter readings still lies with the official who performs the monthly readings as part of their regular duties.
